Film Review #27 DIVERGENT
This movie used some amazing mirror effects in the first twenty five minutes of the movie and I fell in love with the shots that gave off energy, lively hood and character. I think the Shaeline Woodley did an amazing job as playing the lead actress of Divergent. Whenever (Main Character) "Trice" would go in the dream as a "test" in the film I enjoyed how realistic it was, yet you could be tricked by what was realistic and what was not. Sometimes when it was a dream, the shot would be slightly going and have quick shots that your eyes would have to hang on to.

Film review #26 Of Monsters and Men - King and Lionheart
This music video has so much creativity I can barely handle. My favorite shot is when the "older sister" or "mom" character is being "torn" away from her "son" or "little brother". That shot pulls out and gives you a glimpse at the "culture" in the video. Another shot I liked was when the female character was in a deep hole under ground and this magical light creature helped her out. The video took a lot of time and I think they had a staging director on set when they were filming because the lighting for every scene was perfect.

Film Review #25 Bella and the Wolf
Film Review #24 Katy Perry's music video for Dark Horse
Film Review #23 InkHeart
The movie inkheart is such a daring film in ways you wonder how the editors, animators, and anyone else working with the making of the film brought certain characters to life. The film had a great story and a unique twist to some of the characters that were read out of the books. Some of the characters had writing on their face as if they were only "half read" out. I found that to be really cool. Also, some of the characters had fire erupt from their hands and I found that unique.

In Class Assignment 3/11/14 FILM IDEA POST
Cohorts filmmaking project in-class assignment (3/11/14):
- Due at 4:10pm
- Post on your blog with short project statement (~5 sentences)
- Lots of reference materials: drawings, found stuff, photos, videos (yours or other)
- Make it good
For my film/music video for the song we heard today I plan to make a sci fi short film. Something that wraps around not being human, yet looking human. For some reason, I've always loved the beauty in being different. I plan to shoot half of my film at night and the other half during the day. The first character, named Bariya, is going to be running in the forest, looking around searching for something you may not be sure of. Her back ground is she was born in Yosemite, experimented on from a child until her teen age years and changed...forever. One could call her... an upgraded human. Built in with things you could never imagine. The second character, named Giffin, is going to be running after her, following her tracks until he tracks her down and discovers the truth as to whys she's been running. It's because she's not human and she's running from something BIG.
The videos below show the world I want the film to resolve around, yet futuristically.

The woods in the picture and video below are what I seem to picture for the video

Because the song for the music video is different and exotic, I would hope for the character sot be as well.

Film Review #22 Non Stop
Last week I went to see Non Stop with one of my best friends. Throughout the whole movie I stuck with watching the editing because the movie in general was so suspensel. &$@spoiler alert$&@ the scene where the maid character/Marshall and his parter are fighting in the bathroom has amazing editing where they get quick fast shots as they fight but you can still see what's going on. The lighting throughout the film brings out some of the suspense as well.
